Terms of Service

Effective date: April 22, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Riverb mobile application and related services ("Service") operated by Riverbco Technologies Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Riverb. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.

Your content

You retain ownership of all content you create through the Service, including voice recordings, transcripts, and any text you provide. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service — including transcription, AI-generated reflections, story generation, and image creation.

You are solely responsible for the content you record and submit. Do not use the Service to record content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, or that infringes on the rights of others.

AI-generated content

Riverb uses artificial intelligence (Google Gemini and OpenAI) to generate Mirror Moments, story scenes, images, and other reflections based on your journal entries. AI-generated content is provided for personal reflection and creative purposes only. It may be inaccurate, unexpected, or incomplete.

Riverb is not a medical device, therapy tool, or substitute for professional mental health care. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious code or content designed to harm the Service

Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and AI-generated templates (but not your personal content), is owned by Riverbco Technologies Private Limited. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Sharing

When you share a Mirror Moment or story scene, a public link is created. Shared content does not include your name, email, or any identifying information. You can revoke any share at any time. We are not responsible for content that has been copied or screenshotted by others before you revoked the share.

Service availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings screen or via our account deletion page. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may also suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

Your data rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's settings. You can also request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or correct inaccurate information, by emailing privacy@riverb.co. We will respond within 30 days.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, emotional distress from AI-generated content, or service interruptions.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Riverbco Technologies Private Limited and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, India.
